Giovanni Dos Santos is excited by the challenge of playing for Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League after agreeing a move from Barcelona.
The 19-year-old Mexico international, who joined Barca in 2002 at the age of 13, has signed a five-year contract with the London-based club in a six million euro transfer which could rise to 11 million euros depending on performances.
Dos Santos told Primero Noticias: "This change is too good. It's something new for me and I think will be a big challenge.
"I wanted to change for give more strength to my career. To improve is something I strive for every day."
Dos Santos is looking forward to experiencing a new chapter in his life, but is under no illusions ahead of his move to the British capital.
"It will affect us all, but it's a matter of time," he said.
Dos Santos is also confident Mexico, who last week installed Sven-Goran Eriksson as manager before losing 4-1 to Argentina, can fulfil their potential.
"In the future, with work and effort, the 'Tri' can recover the level they showed in past tournaments," he said.
