ADELAIDE United have been hit with a finals blow after Kristian Sarkies and Michael Valkanis were sidelined for three and two weeks respectively.
It had already looked doubtful that the duo would have enough recovery time to take their places at Telstra Dome for the second leg of the major semi-final but today's media bulletin from the club appeared to confirm Aurelio Vidmar's worst fears.
Valkanis has a calf problem while Sarkies' ankle is the reason for his discomfort. Vidmar will be hoping for better news when it comes to two other members of his quad.
Brazilian Cassio will face a fitness test on a calf problem while Robbie Cornthwaite will hope to be clear of a hip problem.
The Reds are already without Diego and Jason Spagnuolo for the forseeable future with quad and knee problems respectively.
