The Selecao were hit by a number of withdrawals ahead of the tournament in Venezuela, with Ronaldinho and Kaka just two of the stars opting to skip the event so they could rest after long domestic seasons in Europe.

Brazil have still managed to qualify for the final despite their absence and Dunga believes the players who edged past Uruguay on penalties in the semi-final should be given credit.

"My stars are here," he said. "They are Juan, Maicon etc. I cannot say anything on the players who are not here.

"What can I do if they did not want to come with us? I have to highlight the ones who did come and thank them for coming.

"They are here and we'll play the Copa America final with them."

In that final, Brazil will play traditional rivals Argentina, a side Dunga rates very highly having watched them beat Mexico 3-0 in their last four clash.

He added: "The game was difficult, but in the second half, Mexico were obliged to allow some space. Then (Leo) Messi was able to capitalise.

"This is a big derby, a unique game where everything can happen."

Brazil will be without Gilberto Silva on Sunday as the Arsenal midfielder is suspended.
