NORTH Queensland Fury new boy Gareth Edds is targeting a spot with the Socceroos as he looks to put himself back on the international radar.
The versatile Edds has Under 23 honours for his country but the senior call never arrived during a decade in English football.
He admits that he felt something of a forgotten man but hopes that will change as part of the A-League.
Edds, 29, who played in England for Nottingham Forest, Swindon Town, Bradford City, MK Dons and Tranmere Rovers, told the Townsville Bulletin: "My main aim, is to get in the Australian side.
"Between helping the Fury push on into the play-offs, that is all I want to achieve. I've come back to put myself in the shop window again."
Edds is looking at the Asian Cup and hoping that those who don't know too much about him, soon will.
"It's hard being over there, where no one knows you ... you do feel left out," Edds added.
"Seeing the teams selected over the years hurt, I felt the forgotten man."
