GARETH Edds has warned North Queensland Fury must back it up against Sydney FC to prove they're more than wooden spoon fodder despite the late drama that denied Perth Glory a home win.
While delighted by the point on the road from the last gasp leveler for Fury to clinch a 3-3 draw, Edds said nobody was getting carried away with the rollercoaster result in Townsville.
"We haven't proved anything, we've played one game, so we've got to build on that," he told the Townsville Bulletin.
"We're not getting above ourselves or anything like that, we need to keep level (headed) ... people are still writing us off so we need to prove them wrong and it's what we're going to try and go out and do."
But Edds doesn't really care what people are saying about the club's prospects this season.
He added: "We don't mind the underdog tag.
"It galvanises the squad and we know what we want to achieve."
