The Bundesliga strugglers were beaten 1-0 at home by Borussia Dortmund, their 10th loss in 14 games this season, and remain inside the bottom three for at least another week.

And Eichner told Premiere television: "At the moment, there is a huge void and a huge degree of cluelessness.

"We don't have the potency in attack to force a goal and we aren't keeping clean sheets at the back either.

"It's the same every week. We would just need to go ahead once to get a bit of belief back in ourselves."

Coach Edmund Becker should still be secure in his job after last week being given a guarantee even in the event of relegation and Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp showed sympathy for the under-fire coach.

"I myself have worked very recently at a club with similar means as KSC and I think that the best trait of these clubs is how they keep their calm," he said.

"Karlsruhe have the quality, as you could see. I wish them all the best."

The win lifted the Westphalians up to fourth position ahead of the weekend's remaining Bundesliga fixtures.
