The one-time Fulham and A-League star - who played for Wellington Phoenix and Central Coast Mariners - was pulled over on his Harley Davidson motorbike for a faulty light in Granville last Thursday.

Police searched him after noticing suspicious sealable bags in his wallet and allegedly found the guns and some erectile dysfunction tablets, Cialis, which Elrich had no prescription for.

Both of the pistols were allegedly loaded and found with six 6.35mm Browning rounds, two .38-calibre rounds and one .357 magnum round.

Elrich was held in custody when he faced Parramatta Court on Friday after he was refused bail because of the severity of the charges facing him, according to court documents.

Elrich, 29, was released by Central Coast Mariners after an injury plagued-spell at the club which followed a similar run at Wellington Phoenix.

The one-time star was an Olyroo at the 2004 Games and was tipped to be a major player for the Socceroos until he suffered a crippling knee injury while playing for Australia against Kuwait in 2006 robbed him of much of his speed.

He notched up 17 caps for the Socceroos but in the wake of his knee injury, he never fully realised the potential he had once shown. His younger brother Tarek plays for Newcastle Jets.

He is due to return to court via video link on June 17.
