EXCLUSIVE: Queensland Roar striker Ante Milicic says new Wellington Phoenix signing Ahmad Elrich will light up the A-League.
And Milicic should know. The pair were teammates in the barnstorming Parramatta Power side of 2003/4 which reached the grand final.
“I'll never forget that season when I scored 21 goals in the old NSL with Parramatta Power," Milicic told au.fourfourtwo.com.
“Ahmad was playing wide as an attacking midfielder and I think he set up 20 of them.”
Elrich was confirmed this morning as the 23rd player on the Phoenix roster after a period of speculation that saw him being courted by Sydney and the Mariners. He was released from his Fulham contract in August.
“I rate Ahmad Elrich," added Milicic. "He hasn't had the best of times overseas but still remains a good athlete with plenty of pace and will be a good acquisition to any side."
Milicic will have a chance to play against his former teammate when Phoenix visit Suncorp in round seven.
