DOHA, March 5 (Qatar League) - Al Sadd's Brazilian striker Marcio Emerson will be out of action for at least four weeks with a torn leg muscle.
The Qatar League's top scorer with 17 goals joins a lengthy injury list alongside Abdullah Koni, Mohammed Saqr, Wissam, Issa Al Kawari and Tahir Mohammed.
Al Sadd team doctor Hussain Al Menai told the club's website: "Emerson will be out for more than a month and he will have to take several physiotherapy sessions to recover from his injury."
The news will be a big blow for the 12 time Qatar League champions as it comes just 48 hours before their opening Group C match in the AFC Champions League against Al Karama in Homs.
