England defeated Colombia and broke their penalty shootout curse to make the quarter finals of the World Cup for the first time since 2006.
Juan Quintero - 6
The attacking midfielder probed the England defence and had a decent try with his left foot in the first half but struggled to penetrate, even though he did look dangerous throughout.
Juan Cuadrado - 6
Was a constant threat but like his teammates was guilty of giving away dangerous free-kicks outside the box and wasted a great chance when Walker gave away possession. Redeemed himself with a great penalty in the shootout.
Radamel Falcao - 6
The striker rarely troubled the goal and was at boiling point midway through the second half as he spent a lot of energy arguing with the referee. Was still a focal point for Colombia’s attack and gave all for his country. Struck a superb opening penalty in the shootout.

Bacca - 5
Gave away a stupid foul on John Stones when he came on and promptly received a yellow and missed the crucial fifth penalty in the shootout.
Uribe - 6
Didn’t do enough to warrant a fair rating until his amazing shot on goal in the 93rd minute led to Colombia’s equalising goal at the end of normal time. Missed Colombia’s fourth penalty.
Muriel - 5
Made a couple of attacking runs down the left in extra time and rolled his country’s third penalty with ease low into the far corner.
