Harry Kane was the hero for England as his late goal secured a 2-1 win over a Tunisia side which fought hard throughout.
England took the lead through Kane who scored from close range from an Ashley Young corner in the 11th minute.
The Tottenham star followed up a John Stones header that was initially saved by Tunisian keeper Hassan.
In the 35th minute, Ferjani Sassi equalised for Tunisia after England defender Kyle Walker swung his arm in the face of Tunisian midfielder Fakhreddine Ben Youssef and conceded a penalty for a needless foul.
While Tunisia held England’s attack at bay, in the end captain Kane was the saviour with his 91st minute header, saving his side from what looked like being a disappointing 1-1 draw.
England
Jordan Pickford – (GK) 6
Didn’t do much except for picking the ball out of the net after Tunisia scored a penalty in the first half.
Kyle Walker 5
Was mostly solid in defence and was good on the ball but conceded a silly penalty in the 33rd minute.

John Stones 6
Was solid on the ball and strong in defence. His header led to Harry Kane’s goal but a swing and a miss in the 39th minute was not his best effort on goal.
Harry Maguire 7
A strong performance, marshalled his side well and was strong on corners at both ends. His header late on lead to Kane’s winner.
Ashley Young 5
Delivered a great cross which led to the opening goal in the first stanza, but in the second half his crossing was poor.
Kieran Trippier 7
Some good crosses into the box from right-back. Was penetrating for England throughout the game.
Jordan Henderson 6
A mixed performance, some good possession play and was involved in some attacks with shots and crosses but didn’t play the ball forward enough.
Jesse Lingard 7
Was one of England’s best and was involved in their bright start. Had a shot saved in the fifth minute and almost scored in the 43rd minute when his chip-shot hit the post.
Dele Alli 6
Some good work early on and was involved in setting up Lingard on the left. Suffered a knock in the first half which may have limited his mostly lethargic performance.
Raheem Sterling 6
Some good combination work with Kane early on and released Trippier a few times. However, his effect on the game was minimal in the second half and he was substituted in the 68th minute.
Harry Kane 8
Kane was the right man at the right time with a double. He worked hard throughout the game and was the hero for England.
Subs
Marcus Rashford 5
Came on in the 68th minute and tried to create but struggled to penetrate.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek 5
Got involved when he came on but no real end product
Tunisia
Mouez Hassen 5
Forced off with an arm injury after just 15 minutes.
Dylan Bronn 6
The right-back was solid throughout and nullified Young’s forays down the wing.
Yassine Meriah 6
Was a strong presence at the back and did well to nullify England’s constant attacks in the first half. Was generally composed on the ball.
Syam Ben Youseff 6
The central defender battled well and was unyielding in defence as he held England’s attackers at bay for most of the match.
Ali Maaloul 6
Trippier gave him a torrid time in the first half but his general play was good. As the match went on, he made it harder for England to attack.
Ferjani Sassi 6
The central midfielder coolly slotted home the Tunisia equaliser but was lucky not to concede a penalty himself after bringing down Kane late in the first half.

Elleys Skhiri 6
The central midfielder put in a decent display and was busy throughout the game.
Anice Badri 5
The right winger really didn’t get into the game.
Naim Sliti 5
Not a bad performance on the left winger but his shooting could’ve been better and he ended up being substituted.
Wahbi Khazri 5
The central attacking midfielder was busy without being influential.
Fakheredine Ben Youssef 5
The striker delivered a good cross in the first half but didn’t really make an impression on the England defence.

England kept him busy but was solid on corners.
