With the Asian Cup on the horizon and then the campaign trail for the 2014 World Cup, the Adelaide United custodian is not ruling out an overseas switch.

"I don't know how much interest there is in Europe at the moment," Galekovic told the Courier Mail.

"I definitely want to head over and I want to push as hard as I can.

"The move overseas could help me get to the next World Cup."

He didn't play in Friday night's pre-season clash with Wellington Phoenix following a knee operation but hopes to be back in action quickly - possibly within days.

But whether it's in the colours of Adelaide of somewhere else, Galekovic knows impressing between the sticks is the best way to attract the attention of the next Australia coach.

"I've got to perform now at club level and if I do that, I've got every chance of going to the Asian Cup," he added.
