The Premier League club have come to a mutually-beneficial deal with the council that will see them retain their long-term lease on the base, which includes their first-team training and Academy facilities.

Under the terms of the agreement, Everton will pay reduced annual rent charges on the base, while the local authority will enjoy an "attractive commercial return", a statement on the club's official website read.
Everton chief executive Robert Elstone insisted the deal represented a good one for the club.

He commented: "We continue to work with the council on many fronts and the club is especially pleased to have delivered an innovative scheme, on our superb Finch Farm facility, that works for both parties."
