Patrick Flottmann left Sydney FC for more game time. He got that in Thailand. But he got a whole lot more.
“I’m looking forward to playing and learning as much as I can week in week out.”
De Leeuw is a 31-year-old Dutch striker formerly at Roosendaal youth player, while Brazilian Tardelli is a 29-year-old goal machine for BG, just two quality foreigners who've found themselves in Thailand's second tier.
It’s a learning process on and off the park for the former Blacktown youth player.
Living abroad matures you as a man and focuses your attention on your career. (At least that’s what the smart ones like Andrew Nabbout, Taylor Regan and Joel Chianese do – the trio powered on from their Malaysian Super League stints a few years back to reignite their careers.)
And playing for a struggling side often can be the making of you.

Flottmann and Co. sit rock bottom of the 18-team (yes, 18) T2, yet in a positive sign, they drew 2-2 with league leaders BG Pathum United on the weekend.
“Our team has had a rough start to the T2 season," Flottmann added.
“We have had change with a new head coach coming in. we’ve only won 1 and drawn 3 in 11 games,” added Flottmann, who turned 22 this month.
“However we are still remaining positive and optimistic about our season.
“As a team our last game we had a 2-2 draw with the top-placed side and we are looking to now use this as momentum to take into the upcoming fixtures.”
