The All Whites secured their first World Cup point with a last-gasp equaliser against Slovakia and Ricki Herbert's men now face the might of Italy.

A tough ask but far from mission impossible according to Fallon.

"We can beat the best, we've got a good enough team to do that," Fallon told the New Zealand Herald.

"I personally believe we can go through to the next round. People think I'm mad but people didn't think we would get a point against Slovakia and it's happened. We're going to prove people wrong."

The Plymouth Argyle man believes Italy are not perfect and that the All Whites must seek to take advantage.

"This is a landmark and we know we can kick on and do better. We've watched video of Italy and they struggle on the crosses and the long diagonal ball," he added.
