The pair have featured in every match for Queensland so far this season and Farina is hoping they can cause a big headache for Adelaide United on Saturday.

McKay received a call up for the recent Asian Cup qualifier in Indonesia but Farina believes Murdocca has what it takes to follow his midfield partner into green and gold territory.

Farina told the Courier Mail: "I wouldn't swap them for the world. They might not be big in stature, but they're massive in terms of influence. They're constant, they're harassing, they're pressuring, and that's our game."

Murdocca has won plenty of plaudits for his non-stop running in the engine room with a lack of goals the only glaring omission from his cv.

But Farina still sees enough to convince him that Pim Verbeek may yet come calling for the 24-year-old.

He said: "I think Massimo can play for the national team without any doubt. He's just got to learn a few more things but he's a good player."

Although both Murdocca and McKay will be unleashed against Adelaide, Farina's preparations have been upset somewhat with Tahj Minniecon being ruled out through injury.
