Starting at 7am yesterday and going for 60 hours straight, the footballers are part of six teams of three people chosen from around the country competing in their specialist ‘code’ for the chance to see David Beckham play with the Galaxy live in LA.

The team that lasts 60 hours, and gets the most 'likes' on their Facebook team profile page will win $10,000 and a trip to LA to watch Katy Perry in concert and a VIP LA Galaxy football experience.

The footballers - Chris Duncan, Darren Hewitt, Louie Rallis – hail from the Nunawading FC club and are currently peppering the back of a net every 20 seconds at Queensbridge Square in Melbourne's Southbank as part of their challenge.

To help motivate the boys, Melbourne Victory players Adrian Leijer, Danny Allsop and Lee Broxham were on hand at the launch and have been sending messages of support.

The Adidas challenge features dancers, Aussie Rules, skaters, football and artists doing what they love for 60 hours constantly.

Duncan said it was a tough test but the trio are hopeful of beating AFL in their heartland and bag the big prize.

“Football is the world game so to beat AFL in Melbourne would be great. I’m tired, and it’s pretty hard at night when no-one’s here but we’re keeping each other going," he told au.fourfourtwo.com.

Currently Aussie Rules is number one on the voting followed by dancers and football in third. The players are hopeful that with au.fourfourtwo.com's help they can realise their dream.

“Hopefully we can move up to number one,” added Duncan. “I’m a massive Beckham fan.”
