Arsenal, conquerors of Liverpool in midweek, will face Manchester City at Eastlands.

And the draw, featuring eight teams from the Barclays Premier League, is completed by Portsmouth's clash with Aston Villa at Fratton Park.

The matches will take place in the week beginning November 30.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has described this season's Carling Cup as "like a domestic Champions League".

He explained in his club's official matchday programme for the Barclays Premier League visit of Spurs: "To me the Carling Cup has become a very positive tournament with teams going for it because there is no replay.

"This year it strikes me that it is like a domestic Champions League with all the top teams really motivated and the games therefore become top level in their quality."
