United States goalkeeper Tim Howard expects the team to pick up Jurgen Klinsmann's ideas quickly ahead of the new coach's first game in charge in a friendly against Mexico in Philadelphia tomorrow.
Klinsmann, who led Germany to the semi-finals at the 2006 World Cup, was appointed as Bob Bradley's replacement last month.
This is his first coaching role since he was sacked as Bayern Munich boss after less than a season in charge in 2009.
"I think it's normal any time your boss changes, you have to adapt very quickly, listen more than speak, find out what he expects, what his likes and dislikes are, and try to fall into line," Howard told www.ussoccer.com.
"We have a good group of guys, and I think that's a consistent thing you hear. We'll be able to step onto the field and continue to fight for one other like we always have.
"Some ideas will be different of course because it's a different coach, but hopefully we'll get very similar results."
Russia warm up for their Euro 2012 qualifiers at home to Macedonia and the Republic of Ireland next month by hosting Serbia.
Dick Advocaat's side are level on points with Slovakia and Ireland at the top of Group D after six games.
"Even before qualifying we set ourselves the goal of finishing first in the group," Advocaat said on the Russian Football Association's official website.
"We have played all the contenders in the group and in all our previous games our team has looked better than our opponents. Now we have home advantage, we are counting on the support of our fans. Everyone should be confident of a successful outcome, it's in our hands."
Ireland have a friendly against Croatia ahead of their top-of-the-table meeting with Slovakia, who travel to Austria tomorrow.

Slovenia host a Belgium side in second place behind Germany in Group A.
