EXCLUSIVE: The ACL has provided Aussie football with another boost as Fox Sports' Asian Champions League ratings go through the roof.
"Average audiences are up by 28 percent on last year," the football channel's boss Murray Shaw told au.fourfourtwo.com.
Much of this spike has been due to Adelaide United's extraordinary success in Asia.
With a group stage win and knockout victories over Kashima Antlers and Bunyodkor, the Reds' odyssey has caught the imagination of viewers.
And not just in Australia. The ACL final is also expected to be shown live in Brazil.
For the first leg of the ACL final, Simon Hill and former Reds hero Ross Aloisi will anchor the coverage in the studio while Mike Cockerill and Andy Harper will be in the Expo 70 Stadium in Osaka to call the match.
There will be a full half hour preview and a review after the match as well.
In other news, the second leg of the ACL final on November 12 at Hindmarsh Stadium is fully subscribed.
The remaining three and a half thousand tickets for the match were sold within an hour of going on sale to the general public at 9am this morning.
Fans were lined up as early as 4.30am out the front of Adelaide United's office and Venue*Tix outlet on Manton Street in order to secure one of the highly sought after tickets to the historic match.
