Former Real Madrid midfielder Alberto Vitoria died today at the age of 54, the Primera Division club have announced.
Vitoria played in 57 games and scored one goal for Madrid between 1974 and 1979 and won four league titles and one Copa del Rey.
After leaving the Bernabeu, Vitoria played for Burgos, Granada and Rayo Vallecano.
The club announced he had died of a "cardiac illness".
