And the man known to Liverpool fans as ‘God’ has nothing but good things to say about the coaching staff and facilities Fury have to offer.

Fowler, who arrived a few days earlier then expected, said it was an understatement to say he was impressed with what the club had to offer while also heaping praise on manager Ian Ferguson and owner Don Matheson.

"I have nothing but good things to go home and speak to my wife about in terms of the club and facilities," Fowler told The Townsville Bulletin.

"Obviously with it being a new club, the drive and the vision of not only the manager but the chairman and everyone that is employed with them is unbelievable.

"To say I am impressed is probably an understatement in terms of what they have shown me in the club situation."

Fowler insisted he still had mileage left in his tank as a professional player and hed plenty to offer Fury.

"You're not going to come over here for an easy life, the football is going to be tough, I know that from speaking to other people in the past about it," he said.

"I still think I can play at a good level, I'm still fit."

Fowler also revealed he had been looking at housing-estates and schools in the past few days with a wife and four kids to think about Fowler also added it was lifestyle he was looking for.

"Obviously I have had a good look around at various houses and places to live to see what might be suited," Fowler said.

"I just want to get a feel of the club and the facilities and obviously things around the place to entertain the family.

"I have got a wife and four kids so obviously they are very important in making the decision.

"It's not just me, I've got to come over, have a look and hopefully things will work out."

He added: "I came over here two years ago and I enjoyed it then.

"I was almost at Sydney, but I have sort of kept in touch with the game anyway. In England there is a (television) programme that comes on once a week about the A-League so I have kept my eye out for that.

"I think it would be unfair of me to drag it out for as long as I can. I'll go home and have a good chat and I'm fairly sure it will be quite soon."

The former Liverpool legend will head back to England on Friday where he will weigh up his options.
