The club's marquee star touches down in North Queensland and will waste little time in beginning the process of adapting to life in Australia.

The club's medical and coaching team has a program of work carefully laid out and it will be a question of building Fowler up gradually and then monitoring him when pre-season training starts on April 1.

However, Fowler is keen to adjust to his new surroundings before reporting for work.

Coach Ian Ferguson told the Courier Mail: "We had extensive medical tests done on Robbie prior to his signing and he'll start training with the rest of the squad on April 1.

"Because of the heat and humidity we will ease him into the physical work with three days a week for the first month."

Meanwhile, Fowler's former Blackburn Rovers teammate Brett Emerton is confident the ex Liverpool striker will adapt to the A-League.

He told the Sydney Morning Herald: "The pace in the A-League is not as hectic as England, which will suit him, but he's always prepared to work as hard as he needs to."
