EXCLUSIVE: A Singapore promoter is in final negotiations with Robbie Fowler's North Queensland Fury for a three-match tour of Malaysia and Singapore in early June.
The tour is set to take in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah. The first game around May 31 is expected to be in Singapore against an as yet un-named local side.
The promoters expect to know in the next couple of days whether the tour will go ahead.
The game in Singapore is also tipped to feature a charity curtain-raiser with a number of high-profile players from the region as well as one former Socceroo set to play in the match.
English powerhouse Liverpool has a huge fan base in south-east Asia and with Robbie Fowler in their ranks, Fury are expected to pack out stadiums for all three games with the former Reds hero known as "God".
The game in Singapore is not expected to be played at the national stadium, the scene of the Soceroos' last two games against Singapore.
Fowler will return to England in May and if the tour goes ahead, could join up with the Fury touring squad directly from the UK
"We don't want to say too much know because North Queensland have not signed contracts yet but Robbie Fowler is a huge drawcard in these parts," one tour insider told au.fourfourtwo.com.
