A LINGERING stomach strain will sideline in-form Brisbane Roar midfielder Ivan Franjic for up to a month.
The emerging Socceroo, a standout player in the A-League season, was a late withdrawal from the Roar side that suffered a surprise loss against Adelaide United at the weekend.
The 26-year-old's absence will test Brisbane's midfield depth ahead of a tough next few weeks for the ladder leaders.
Mike Mulvey's men face a danger away to Perth Glory on Friday night before home matches against Wellington Phoenix and Central Coast Mariners.
It is not clear whether the defender-cum-midfielder will be available for February 7's crucial top-of-the-table clash against Western Sydney Wanderers at Pirtek Stadium.
Franjic has only recently overcome a groin injury which hampered his performance in matches just before Christmas.
