EXCLUSIVE: Mark Schwarzer’s Fulham are about to embark on a huge Australian tour and will use the Gold Coast as their base this July for a three-game tour.
In what looms as the most exciting A-League off-season ever, Fulham will announce later today their tour details.
It's understood the team will play Gold Coast United on July 9 in what will be a showdown between Socceroos Mark Schwarzer and United's marquee signing Jason Culina.
After basing themselves on the sunshine strip, the Cottagers will then head to Melbourne for a clash with reigning A-League champions Victory on July 11.
That's followed on July 15 by one of the most enticing fixtures of the off-season as they take on Perth Glory in WA. That game is a double header which will also feature North Queensland Fury versus England's Wolves.
Fulham, under one-time Socceroo coach target Roy Hodgson, have enjoyed a stellar season in the English Premier League and that, together with Mark Schwarzer's appearance with the club, will no doubt ensure this tour will be highly anticipated.
* In other news, the Denilson to A-League deal should be known by Tuesday. The former Brazilian World Cup player has been mulling over an offer - believed to be from Perth Glory - for his services on a seven game deal. However, Perth are also in the market for a number of other players at the moment.
