NORTH Queensland Fury chairman Don Matheson has moved to calm fears at the A-League new boys and told the players that the club will still be around 'next week and in five years time.'
It was revealed on Monday that a major investor had parted ways with Fury and that CEO Dean Hassell was leaving the club.
However, while Matheson admits the club is losing money, around $50,000 a week, and that new investment is being sought, there is no cause for panic.
He told AAP: "Financially our position hasn't changed. I've just got to put more money in."
Matheson met with the players on Tuesday and told them that he was not about to walk away from a challenge.
"All the players left beaming with confidence that this club is going to be here next week and in five years' time," he said.
Matheson said marquee star Robbie Fowler was the 'heart and soul' of the club and said he'd be surprised if he ever wanted to leave.
Matheson will leave on Friday in a bid to secure overseas investment but also hopes to find local backers.
