Daal rifled home the winning goal in the weekend's triumph over Perth Glory, the club's first triumph on home soil in the A-League.

It is easier said than done for Fury though as Daal is currently on the books as an injury replacement for defender Karl Dodd and has only two games left on a six-game deal with no guarantees beyond that.

Two other existing squad players, Shane Stefanutto and Scott Wilson, are both injured long term but coach Ian Ferguson needs defensive, not attacking, cover for them.

Ferguson told the Townsville Bulletin: "'I'd love to keep him, he's in for an injury replacement, and you see nearly every game he comes on and makes a difference.

''I'm desperate to get a centrehalf in, but I'm also desperate to keep Dyron Daal in the team because I think he gives us that lift.''

Daal appears keen to stay and dedicated his winning goal to the Fury fans.

"As soon as it left my foot I just knew it had to be special," he said. "To get a result like that is fantastic. I'd love to give the fans a special mention they have been sensational for us."

In other Fury news, Socceroos assistant coach Graham Arnold has revealed that Daniel McBreen's efforts for the club have put him on the international radar.

''We've been very impressed with Daniel McBreen, he's been a handful for all defences this year (and) we're always looking for central strikers," Arnold told the Bulletin.

''I think Josh Kennedy's got a mortgage on the position at the moment, but here in Australia, you are talking about young Matty Simon, Mark Bridge, Alex Brosque from Sydney and Daniel McBreen up here has been doing well."
