NORTH Queensland Fury's players are gushing in their praise of new coach Franz Straka and the respect command he commands from the squad.
Fury continued their pre-season preparations with a 4-1 victory over Hekari FC at the weekend and the feeling in the Townsville camp is very positive.
"Franz has come in and brought in a few different ideas and it's very, very structured this year," midfielder Chris Grossman told the Townsville Bulletin.
"Every player knows what their job to do is and every player is really fighting for each other, which is bringing a good mentality to the squad this year and hopefully it'll bring a finals spot or a good finish."
The 23-year-old said the coach's past record was a big factor and the players are putting in the hard graft.
"Where he's been, he's got a good track record and he brings a lot of respect and he expects a lot back, so the players are prepared to work for him," added Grossman.
"Everyone's prepared to dig for themselves and we know we've got a good shot this year to make better than what we did last year, so we're all out to prove a point."
Fury's preparations will continue when they face Gold Coast United on Sunday.
