NORTH Queensland Fury forward David Williams admitted Saturday's 3-2 loss to Adelaide was a blow after their bright start to the season but claimed his side are in it for the long haul.
Williams scored a late consolation as the Fury went down to the Reds in Townsville, condemning the North Queenslanders to their first A-League defeat under new boss Franz Straka.
"It was disappointing to lose three points at our home ground," Williams told Fox Sports. "Well done to Adelaide, but we've got away and think about what's just happened and then continue on."
He added: "We're in here for the long haul. It's just not about these first few games. We got off to a good start and hopefully this isn't the end of our good start.
"We've got to re-build and keep going ahead of next week down in Melbourne and they're struggling a little bit.
"For the first part of the season, we've got to be happy with our run but disappointed with how the game went tonight."
North Queensland's next match is in Victoria against A-League newboys Melbourne Heart on Sunday.
