NORTH Queensland Fury are still more than $1 million short of the FFA's demand but the governing body did not bring down the axe as the January 31 deadline came and went.
The Townsville outfit remains positive that it does have an A-League future, even though it has yet to turn good will into cold hard cash.
A-League boss Lyall Gorman (pictured) told The Townsville Bulletin: "We've never wanted to be absolutely line-in-the-sand specific.
"We'd really like to get all the facts on board and carefully examine the position. We've come this far, a few days is not going to hurt us either way."
Fury have just announced details of a community ownership structure and the club's CEO is encouraged by the response.
Rabieh Krayem added: "We've kept the FFA informed with how we're progressing with it and I'm sure if we get the right response, which early indications are that we will, that it will go a long way towards securing Fury's future,"
He said he was confident that the $1.5 million (set as a target by the FFA) would be achieved if given the time.
