NORTH Queensland Fury have suffered another blow with the loss of Queensland Nickel as a sponsor but it has been labelled as just a 'bump in the road' by Archie Fraser.
Fury were informed on Friday that the company would not be extending its association with the Townsville outfit - something of a surprise to club officials.
''This is disappointing for the club and comes as a surprise after what were very positive discussions with the local senior management team at Queensland Nickel just last week,'' Fraser told the Townsville Bulletin.
''I had a call from local management early today (Friday) and shortly afterwards received a letter stating the sponsorship would not be renewed for next year, despite recent conversations that were open and positive."
But Fraser (pictured) prefers to see the situation as a case of one door opening where another closes - rather than being a potentially terminal blow for the club.
''This is just a little bump in the road and presents an opportunity for the club to partner with a national sponsor who will grow with us over the next few years,'' he added.
