EXCLUSIVE: North Queensland Fury's capture of Ufuk Talay may have slipped largely under the radar but the club believe he is the perfect cog to make their engine room tick next season.
While other signings in the A-League have arguably generated more publicity, Fury cannot contain their delight at securing the services of the former Sydney FC man.
Talay will join up with the Townsville-based side ahead of their inaugural A-League campaign once the current J-League season draws to a close in a couple of weeks.
Currently playing in the Japanese second tier with Avispa Fukuoka, the midfielder's rich footballing experiences are seen as crucial qualities.
Chairman Don Matheson told au.fourfourtwo.com today: "I know that Fergie (coach Ian Ferguson) is a really, really big fan of Ufuk and was absolutely delighted that we managed to get him.
"I think when you look at the clubs he's played for and the different countries he's played his football in, that kind of experience is something you want to make use of.
"Again, Ufuk fits the model we're trying to establish at this club. He will provide the experience and also the direction that's so important."
Fury's squad is starting to take shape with further signings in the pipeline.
Queensland Roar duo Chris Grossman and Robbie Kruse are among those being linked with a switch.
