GALATASARAY have won the Super Lig following a 2-0 win over Genclerbirligi OFTAS.
Veteran forward Hakan Sukur put the hosts in front after 36 minutes before a 45th-minute goal from Hakan Kadir Balta wrapped the title up by half-time.
As it stood Galatasaray did not even need the win as second-placed Fenerbahce to a 2-0 defeat to Trabzonspor.
Trailing the leaders by three points going into the final tie Fenerbahce needed a win to stand any chance of winning the league.
But goals from Ibrahima Yattara (30) and Umut Bulut (45) meant their title hopes were dead before the second half.
They still managed to remain in second place on goal difference despite wins for Sivasspor and Besiktas.
All three sides are level on 73 points, with Sivasspor staying third after goals from Sezer Badur (49) Musa Aydin (59) gave them a 2-0 win over Genclerbirligi.
Besiktas' 5-1 win over already-relegated Manisaspor, meanwhile, was not enough for them to move higher than fourth.
Four goals in the first 10 minutes from Mert Nobre (1), Ibrahim Kas (4, 10) and Ali Tandogan (6) set them off on the chase of third place before Rafael Marques pulled one back for the visitors seven minutes from time.
Filip Holosko added a fifth for Besiktas in the final minute but they still finished short of Sivasspor.
Another already-relegated side, Caykur Rizespor, also bid farewell to the first division on the end of a 5-1 beating, this time at the hands of seventh-placed Denizlispor.
Mehmet Sen put the basement dwellers ahead after six minutes, before Engin Memisler (25) sent the sides in level at the break.
Guray Vural (63, 74), Memisler again (84) and Fatih Yigen (86) completed the rout in the second half.
That heavy defeat allowed Kasimpasa to climb off the bottom of the table with a 2-1 win over Konyaspor.
Alpaslan Kartal put Kasimpasa ahead after 12 minutes, before their visitors pegged them back through Murat Hacioglu (59). Andre Moritz scored the winner for the hosts after 77 minutes.
Finally Kayserispor remained in fifth despite losing 2-0 to Ankaragucu after goals from Alper Aydin (24) and Cem Can (37).
Gaziantepspor saw off Istanbul Buyuksehir BSK 1-0 thanks to a 27th-minute goal from Beto, and Ankaraspor drew 1-1 at Bursaspor. The visitors went in front after 12 minutes through Israel Zuniga, but were pegged back by Erhan Albayrak on the stroke of half-time.
