It was a superb display by Gold Coast and they set their stall out early on when Broadfoot opened his account inside the first 10 minutes. A flowing move and slick passing ended with Broadfoot confidently slotting home a right-footed drive past Sydney ‘keeper Aaron Liddell.

United were dominant but Sydney Youth had their moments in the first period and it took two splendid stops from Gold Coast's Scott Higgins to maintain their lead until half time.

It was a similar story in the second 45 minutes and Gold Coast extended their lead with another quality goal. Bobby Russell was felled on the edge of the box and Koh Satake made the most of the free-kick by blasting home for 2-0.

With the result safe Gold Coast continued to entertain and Broadfoot doubled his personal tally as the clocked ticked down.

Finding space in the box, Josh Brillante shaped for a shot but spotted Broadfoot in a better position. A square ball from Brillante found Broadfoot and the rangy striker did the rest.

In the closing moments United put the icing on the cake as Broadfoot completed his treble in style. Mitch Cooper found Bas van den Brink, who in turn laid the ball into Broadfoot's path. Still with a lot to do, Broadfoot fashioned a classy finish by lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.

The win gives Gold Coast United Youth a 100 per cent record in the 2010/11 National Youth League season having registered a 2-1 win against Central Coast Mariners Youth in week one.

"It was a super performance by the whole team and credit goes to Chris Broadfoot for his goals - he took them all superbly," said Gold Coast Youth Coach Mike Mulvey.

"We kept up our work ethic right until the end which was pleasing and we passed the ball very well which is what we try to preach to our players."
