According to reports from CalcioNews24, Lazio are trying to secure a swap deal with Genoa to exchange Bresciano for striker Giuseppe Sculli for the remainder of the season on loan.

"If it is possible to do this so be it," Lazio technical co-ordinator Igli Tare said. "The timeframe is not defined, it may take a week. We hope to find a way to do this.

"The problem to solve is not about the will of the players, the clubs just have to find the right way."

The 30-year-old Australian midfielder, who was a 67th-minute substitute in Lazio's 2-1 loss to Lecce on Sunday, has only made two starts and nine substitute's appearances in Serie A this term.

Genoa are currently managed by Davide Ballardini, who Bresciano worked with at former club Palermo.

Corriere dello Sport also reported Genoa midfielder Houssine Kharja could be used in the deal.
