GHANA midfielder Sulley Muntari has dismissed the Socceroos’ chances of getting out of Group D to focus on Serbia instead and the aim of reaching the World Cup semi-finals.
To see Ghana training overnight...
The Inter Milan star, who is returning from injury, says the Ghanaians are hoping for a semi-final appearance.
Muntari does not see the Socceroos as a team standing in Ghana's way.
"Germany are the group favourites and so it will doubtless come down to Serbia - we don't know quite what to expect against them, but we know they are a good team. Our goal is to produce good football," he told AFP.
"We want to get out of our group and get to the semi-finals or even further."
Meanwhile. Ghana has switched its headquarters from Pretoria to Sun City, just outside Rustenburg, an officially citing "unresolved technical problems".
The Ghanaians beat a local side 4-0 in their final warm up match, and Serbian head coach Milovan Rajevac admits his team needs to make the round of 16.
"The most important thing is for us to qualify for the last 16. We have a reputation for starting tournaments slowly, but I believe that's a thing of the past.'' he said
He looks forward to facing his nation of berth in the opening game.
He added: "I am 100 percent Ghanaian. I am a professional, my primary target is to win against Serbia and to qualify."
