After spending ten years playing in Europe, including stints with top sides Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split, Dragicevic will join the side in time for the beginning of the 2007/08 season.

He has most recently been playing in the Russian second division with club Khimki, scoring seven goals in 22 appearances before heading back to Croatia to play for Pula.

“He’s a strong player in the air and will be damaging if we get the ball into him in and around the box,” says Ron Smith.

“Mate has a real nose for goal and throughout his career, at all levels of football, he has consistently been able to score.

“He’s only 27 years old and has comes to us with a real competitive fire in his belly. He has an outstanding attitude and plenty of ambition which I like to see in a player.

Mate (pronounced Mar-tay) has previously represented Croatia at U-21 level.
