ADELAIDE United boss Rini Coolen believes Mathew Leckie's European destination of choice should be Holland but not until he's at least seen out the current season with the Reds.
Coolen is very impressed with the youngster and should the striker decide to try his luck overseas, then the Eredivisie is the place best-suited to his talents.
Mathew can go anywhere but I think Holland is a real good next step for him," Coolen told the Adelaide Advertiser. "It would be fantastic, if he does go overseas, for it to be Holland."
However, the United boss believes another campaign in the A-League is important for Leckie, only then will be in a position to make a decision.
"This season he stays in Australia and we will find out if he is ready for the next step," said Coolen. "He is definitely one of the fastest and most powerful young players I have seen."
Leckie is already being talked about as a future Socceroo with many predicting a very bright future for the pacy youngster.
And Coolen is anxious to work with the player for as long as he can.
He added: "I would like to work with him more. It is only the start of the season - he has to continue and develop as much as possible."
