The Northern Territory once again played host to FFA Cup football for the second year running, this time between Shamrock Rovers Darwin FC and former NSL heavyweights Brisbane Strikers with the visitors running out 6-0 victors.

Rhys Meredith, Hiro Omori, Greig Henslee, Trent Clulow and Jonti Richter all found the back of the net while an own goal only served to add more misery for the home side, albeit the fans didn't care too much, singing for their team until the very end.

Edgeworth comfortably saw off an improved FNQ Heat side with three first-half goals from Arron McLoughlan, former Newcastle striker Daniel McBreen and Brody Taylor.

The win sees them through the first Football NNSW side to progress to the round of 16.

In Sydney, Sydney United's Chris Payne and Robert Milevski opened the scoring early with a double salvo to shock homeside Blacktown City before Joey Gibbs snatched a goal just before the break.

Patrick Entelmi would send the home side into raptures with an equaliser on the 71st minute, however neither side could break the deadlock.

What would happen next will go down in FFA Cup folklore as Danny Choi unleashed a 70 metre stunner in the dying moments of the first half of extra-time before adding two more in the second half for a stunning four goal haul.

Former Sydney FC forward Mitchell Mallia also got on the scoresheet.

And finally, at ABD Stadium in Broadmeadows, Hume City proved just why they are the extra-time specialists of the FFA Cup.

Last years semi-finalists, the home side played host to Marconi Stallions but neither side could break the deadlock and the game went into extra-time.

Mirjan Pavlovic opened the scoring in the 97th minute with a beautiful curling shot that proved unstoppale until a marauding Jeremy Walker run found Kym Harris who plowed it into the back of the net.

Enter penalties, and the home side held their nerve to collect another extra-time scalp.
