Craig Goodwin played his part as Sparta Rotterdam came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with NAC Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie overnight.
Goodwin, 25, was overlooked for Australia's 30-man squad for the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers after inconsistent form.
The left-sided winger put in a full shift for Sparta in Friday's clash, where they trailed 2-0 after 51 minutes.
Goodwin's corner led to the first goal in the comeback, with Michel Breuer nodding on for Ragnar Ache to score on 70 minutes.
Fifteen minutes later the Australian found space on the left side of the box and lofted a ball in for Robert Muhren to head centrally, with Ache tapping home from close range.
Goodwin and Kenny Dougall both played full games in the draw.
Elsewhere overnight, Jamie Maclaren was a 76th minute substitute as Darmstadt 98 won 2-1 away to MSV Duisburg in the German 2.Bundesliga.
Bailey Wright played a full game while Mile Jedinak was absent with illness as Bristol City and Aston Villa drew 1-1 in England's Championship.
