Three members of the squad, including Celtic striker Georgios Samaras, attended a pre-match press conference in Legionowo and were quick to stress how prepared the team were for the competition.

Samaras insisted the Greeks were only focused on their own performance, rather than worrying about their opponents.

"We are ready for the games. We've been through a very harsh pre-tournament camp, but now we are physically and psychologically ready for the games," he said.

"We will focus on our play and how we approach the match. We don't care how Poland are going to play."

Samaras was joined by AEK midfielder Grigoris Makos and Olympiakos defender Avraam Papadopoulos at the press conference and the pair echoed the Celtic striker's bullish comments.

However, Makos did say that should Greece lose their opener, the team would have to rethink their options.

"We have prepared well and we want to win. If a negative result comes, then we will have to change our plans," Makos said.

Papadopoulos preferred to concentrate on the positives, citing the support of their fans as the team's principle inspiration.

"We are very happy and proud that we are here. Our supporters our always very close to us and motivate us to give everything we have for the national team. We have been prepared for a long time now to show the best of ourselves," he said.
