The club today announced there would be increased security at the New Douglas Park turnstiles in future in a bid to prevent what occurred before the goalless Clydesdale Bank Premier League game on February 13.

The club said in a statement on their official website, www.acciesfc.co.uk: "Following our last home game v Motherwell, on February 13, an unusually high number of forged banknotes, of various denominations, were found to have been presented at the turnstiles.

"These were subsequently charged back to the club by the bank.

"Accordingly, with immediate effect and at all turnstiles, home and away, additional checks and note scanners will be in operation.

"Fans should therefore allow additional time at the turnstiles as a result of these checks.

"Anyone found attempting to defraud the club will be immediately dealt with by police and stewards on duty at the turnstiles.

"The club wish to apologise in advance to the vast majority of fans who may be delayed in gaining entry to the stadium as a result of the actions of a small minority."
