ABU DHABI, March 1 (UAE League) - Iraq midfielder Hawar Mulla Mohammed scored another goal for Al Ain as he scored the only goal for his side against Al Shaab on Thursday.
After scoring the equaliser for Al Ain against Al Fujairah in the previous round and scoring a wonder goal in UAE President's Cup, Mohammed scored his third goal in as many games, giving Al Ain a 1-0 win over Al Shaab for their third league win of the season.
Al Ain's fellow AFC Champions League qualifiers and league pace-setters Al Wahda claimed their 26th point at the top of the standings following their 4-3 victory over minnows Emirates.
Emirates grabbed the lead after just 60 seconds through Reza Enayati but Al Wahda replied with three goals inside half an hour through Haidar Alo Ali, Mauro Maurito, and Ismail Matar.
Emirates got a goal back through Hameed Saeed in the 38th minute, but Al Wahda restored their two-goal advantage just after the hour mark when Maurito bagged his second of the night.
Rasoul Khatibi scored a third for Emirates, but they could not muster an equaliser.
In the other match on Thursday, reigning champions Al Ahli defeated Al Fujairah 2-0 thanks to goals from Mohammed Kassem and Faisal Khalil.
