SOCCEROO Brett Holman was bang on target as his NEC Nijmegen side crushed NAC Breda 6-0 to all but book a spot in next season's UEFA Cup competition.
NAC have already spurned two chances to claim a place in Europe despite finishing third in the Eredivisie and their latest play-off reverse means Ernie Brandts' tenure will end on a sour note.
Doubles from Jonas Olsson and Jeremain Lens, along with Brett Holman's strike and Youssef El Akchaoui's penalty mean the second leg is now a formality and NEC can look forward to a place in the UEFA Cup.
To add insult to injury, NAC's Tyrone Loran was dismissed for a professional foul which led to El Akcaoui's spot-kick.
Lens had already had a shot well saved by Jelle Ten Rouwelaar when Olsson opened the scoring after 14 minutes.
Ronnie Stam fouled Krisztian Vadoxz on the right and El Akchaoui crossed for Olsson, who volleyed high into the centre of the goal.
Some sloppy play from the visitors allowed NEC in again after 27 minutes and Ten Rouwelaar turned Holman's effort round the post.
From the resulting corner, though, El Akchaoui sent in an inswinging cross and Olsson nodded in his second.
NAC began the second half positively and home keeper Gabor Babos was tested for the first time, parrying the ball from Csaba Feher's 25-yard strike.
From then on it was all NEC.
After 50 minutes NAC gave the ball away again leaving Holman to curl the ball home from 18 yards.
Tim Janssen crossed from the right after a great run with 63 minutes gone and Lens slotted the ball home to make it four.
NEC's fifth came from a lovely passing move with Bas Sibum and Holman involved, the former finally threading a great pass through to Lens who coolly placed the ball into the bottom right corner.
Things continued to get worse for NAC as Loran tugged the shirt of Lens in the box after 70 minutes and was given his marching orders.
And their night of misery was complete when El Akchaoui stepped up to take the penalty, placing the ball low past Ten Rouwelaar.
