Two players managed a hat-trick while NQ Razorbacks' Joshua Searle pulled off the impressive feat of four goals against Redlands City Devils. Ironically the only team that didn't hit the back of the net was Sunshine Coast FC, who managed 62 goals en route to winning the 2008 Hyundai QSL Premiership.

Redlands City Devils 2NQ Razorbacks 4

Joshua Searle's four goal haul started as early as the second minute, and it took another 50 minutes for Redlands' Danny Byrne to score the equaliser. Three minutes later, Searle hit his second and fifteen minutes later he managed his hat-trick. Englishman James Froud clawed one back for the home side before Searle put the game beyond doubt with his fourth goal of the game, seven minutes from time. Elsewhere on the field, NQ Razorbacks goalkeeper Kieran Gonzalez was very impressive between the posts for his new side.

Olympic FC 8- Bundaberg Spirit 1

The clash between Olympic FC and Bundaberg Spirit didn't start so brightly for the home side, with custodian Shannon Lancini suffering a sickening head collision very early on. The Spirit then put the pressure on Bobby Hamilton's men with captain Brett Kitching scoring his side's first goal of the 2009 campaign. It didn't take long for an Olympic comeback, with Nzube Okafor scoring his first of three just five minutes later. Olympic's Andrew Oar got a double, while Jack Petrie, Shane Coffey and Chris Hagell each added one to the 8-1 drumming.

Logan United 6 - Capricorn Cougars 3

Clem Jones Fields was host to the nine goal thriller between Logan United and Capricorn Cougars on Sunday afternoon, the first game in charge for new Cougars Coach Brad Smith. He will be disappointed his side didn't take home the three points, having scored three goals and held the lead twice in the game. They opened the scoring through Tristan Fraser before Logan's Raj Oshen equalised with a penalty. Liam Williams then got his first goal of the season for the Cougars before Oshen again converted from the spot. Logan stretched their lead with goals from PNG International Reggie Davani and youngsters Paul Pizzica and Jackson Dixon-Best before Williams got his second ten minutes from time. Logan held on to take the vital three points.

Queensland Academy of Sport 3 Whitsunday Miners 2

Queensland Academy of Sport made it two wins in a row when they took on the Whitsunday Miners at home. Tyler Thurtell opened the scoring for QAS after just three minutes, before the Miners equalised through their current top scorer Andy Cygan. QAS then again took the lead with a goal from young Josh Brillante before Mitchell Wallace scored his side's second leveller. Josh McVey scored just minutes from fulltime to ensure that QAS took maximum points.

Sunshine Coast FC 0Brisbane Strikers 2

The fierce rivalry between Sunshine Coast FC and Brisbane Strikers was on show when the two sides clashed at Stockland Park on Sunday. Despite both sides experiencing lengthy spells of possesion, it was the Strikers who created more chances and they ran out convincing 2-0 winners through first half goals to in-form strikers Luke Morley and Gareth Musson. Sunshine Coast were more lively in the second half but were unable to convert any chances they produced and once substitute Michele Lastella was sent off in the 72nd minute, a comeback looked unlikely.
