Juventus and Italy striker Vincenzo Iaquinta is set to miss Euro 2008 through injury.
The forward has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a recurring muscle problem, his club confirmed on Thursday.
"Tests done on Iaquinta a couple of days ago show he is recovering well," a club statement said.
"But considering the delicate pathology, Vicenzo will only return to the (Juventus) squad in July.
"Juventus doctor Agricola has already communicated this to the medical staff of the national team."
Iaquinta, who was a member of the Azzurri's World Cup-winning squad in 2006, was set to be included in Roberto Donadoni's selection for the tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
The former Udinese frontman, who has struck eight goals for Juve this campaign, made five appearances in qualifying for the Azzurri but failed to score.
