QPR boss Ian Holloway has revealed Socceroos midfielder Massimo Luongo missed the side’s 2-0 defeat to Derby County due to illness.
Luongo had been replaced at half-time in QPR’s 2-1 home loss to Aston Villa on the weekend having returned late in the week following Australia’s World Cup qualification celebrations.
The Socceroo didn’t make QPR’s trip up to Derbyshire in midweek, with Holloway revealing he was unwell.
Elsewhere, Mile Jedinak played half an hour off the bench as Aston Villa won 2-1 over Sunderland, who had Aussie Tom Beadling on the bench.
Bailey Wright returned from suspension and put in a full shift for Bristol City, while James Meredith and Jackson Irvine both played full games as Millwall and Hull City faced off.
In the UEFA Champions League, Brad Jones played a full game and came close to keeping a clean sheet at Etihad Stadium before a late Raheem Sterling goal clinched Manchester City a 1-0 win over Feyenoord.
Jones wasn’t tested much during the match, with City pushing wide a number of chances.
The result means Jones’ Feyenoord are without a point after five games and cannot qualify for the Europa League with one game to play.
