An impressive Green Gully outfit ran rampant at Green Gully Reserve, routing defending premiers Preston Lions, 4-0.
After a lack-lustre opening 10 minutes, The Cavaliers began to impose themselves on this match, with a long range effort from Joel Nikolic and a volley from the edge of the area from Andy Vargas putting the Preston defence on notice.
Preston keeper Lupce Acevski was in for a long afternoon, but showed his class, saving brilliantly to deny Vargas from close range, following a mazy run from Nikolic.
The unrelenting pressure from the home side finally paid dividends after the half hour mark, with Cavaliers skipper Dean Fak opening the scoring with a fine header at the far post.
The Cavaliers' continued to press, and ultimately would be disappointed to only take in a one goal lead at half time.
Joel Nikolic was unlucky not to score twice in the final ten minutes of the half, firstly nodding a Kole Delev cross against the woodwork, then having a shot blocked from close range, after fine work from Andy Vargas opened up the Preston back four.
The second half resumed with the Cavaliers' continuing to press, but still unable to find a second goal, with both Ivesic and Fleming spurning golden chances to double the lead.
However the Cavaliers' endeavors would ultimately prove fruitful, with a 65th minute penalty providing Steven Burton the chance to bury home past an unlucky Acevski, who saved the initial spot kick, but was left hapless as the rebound was smashed into the back of the net.
With Green Gully now two goals and a man up, it would not be long before the floodgates would open, and just five minutes later Kole Delev found himself unmarked at the edge of the six yard box, to volley home a third for the Cavaliers.
Preston though continued to push, and were unlucky not to get on the score sheet, Kole Delev heading a seemingly innocuous cross from Catalano onto his own cross bar, the ball luckily rebounding safely back into play.
The Cavaliers however, were not content with the scoreline, and with fifteen minutes to go, Banks fired in a low shot, Acevski saved well, but was only able to parry the ball into the path of Jeffrey Fleming who duly slotted home the rebound.
Scoring was now complete, but there was further drama to follow.
Late on a clash between Preston's Blaze Georgioski and Cavalier Emmanuel Muscat, saw both players booked.
The scored finished at 4-0 to Green Gully, a fine victory with a score-line which reflected its dominance of the game
