Injured winger Danny Choi's A-League adventure has come to end with Adelaide United announcing his departure from the club.
Choi, who made two appearances for the Reds, suffered a stress facture to the foot that could see him sidelined for three months.
The 21-year-old displayed eye-catching form in the FFA Cup and NSW NPL for Blacktown City and was signed by Adelaide as an injury replacement for Marcelo Carrusca.
Carrusca's return to the line-up in the Reds' 2-1 loss to Central Coast Mariners on Sunday brought the curtain down on Choi’s brief time with the defending A-League champions.
In a statement the club said: "Choi has suffered a stress fracture in his foot and subsequently had surgery to repair the extent of the injury, which could take 10-12 weeks to recover.
"Adelaide United wishes Danny the best for his recovery and hope to see him back playing football as soon as possible."
The South Korea-born winger made his debut as an 87th minute substitute in United’s 2-1 loss to Melbourne Victory in Round 3.
An extraordinary long-range goal in the FFA Cup and stunning strike in the NSW NPL Grand Final, led to his A-League opportunity.
